Jesse Ostroff
Philanthropic Advisor

Jesse is a Vice President in the Philanthropic Services department with Whittier Trust. He provides advisory and administration services to high-net-worth entities, individuals and families. Jesse specializes in philanthropic planning and administration, providing strategic consultation and guidance for clients who have an existing philanthropic entity or who are looking to create one.

Jesse brings a wealth of experience in philanthropy and nonprofits to Whittier Trust. Jesse has special expertise in nonprofit policy and governance, economic justice, labor policy, and public-private partnerships. Before joining Whittier Trust, Jesse worked at Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors, where he provided guidance on philanthropic giving, conducted grantee research, managed grants administration, and organized grantee convenings. His clients included high-net-worth individuals, family foundations, and large corporate foundations. Jesse also worked as a Fellow at the Liberty Hill Foundation and as a Research Fellow at the University of Pennsylvania Center for Guaranteed Income Research. His nonprofit journey began as an AmeriCorps VISTA member, serving at a workforce development nonprofit in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Jesse received his Master of Public Policy from the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs, his Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy designation from The American College, and his BA in political science from the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor. He received honors for his Master’s capstone project with the California Community Foundation. He currently serves as an Executive Board Member for the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation.
